“Working remotely is an awesome opportunity and I hope to see more companies take this approach in the next few decades. I really think it is where the future is headed, and it is cool being able to work for a company that dares to be different and paves the way for this movement.”
Welcome to the third installment new series about what makes Willory truly unique: our team. Without the people on the Willory team we would not be recognized as one of the top workplaces in Northeast Ohio and have grown so significantly in the last (almost) eight years.
Get to know Willory’s Marketing Associate Scott Drazdik through his own words. If Scott’s words resonate with you and you want to join #TeamWillory, check out our Why Willory? page.
I found the position posted on Indeed in February 2018. After I applied, John called me directly and it caught me by surprise. I was extremely impressed with everything that working for Willory had to offer. I remember talking to him for about half an hour and scheduling another interview shortly after that. Here I am 6 months later working for the company and enjoying every minute of it!
There is no other company in the Northeast Ohio area yet alone country that offers the same set of unique offerings that Willory provides. With the combination of HCM and Employee Life Cycle consulting paired with staffing focused in HR and payroll, Willory is able to leverage any project and help its clients with some of the most difficult situations. Whether a payroll specialist quits who is an integral part of your firm, or if your HCM systems are just not working properly Willory is able to help and find solution for your company. We not only help provide an immediate fix to problems but are also able to provide support and help monitor and assist with long term projects.
I really enjoyed Disrupt HR. It was refreshing hearing from a wide variety of speakers. I also really liked the fact that each speaker had a purpose and discussed a topic that was a disruption to the everyday routine. The focus on innovation, growth, and development of the HR community was extremely evident at this event.
This has been such a positive experience I don’t even know where to start. The staff here taught me everything I need to know about HR and payroll in a quick and effective manner. I studied Marketing and college and did take a few HR/Finance classes, however as many of you know the world of HR and payroll is quite complex and fast pace. After working here for several months, I feel like I already have a strong foundation of the industry and am well equipped to perform the duties my job entails and am continuing to learn every day.
When it comes to personal development I feel that Willory has an investment that is like none other. With being a small company, it is important for everyone on the team to be performing his or her best and to have the resources and relationships to work through any situation. Our company focuses on developing emotional intelligence and being able to handle crucial conversations. We have team training (which is a blast) and get to go over these topics which can not only be career altering but life altering. The tools that we learn from these trainings not only help improve the quality of our work lives but can over all help us become happier and more intelligent people in our personal lives as well.
I feel that the organizational skills I learned in college with being able to balance classes, work, and extra circular activities was a very important experience for me. I went to Kent State University and before I started there my organizational skills were nowhere near where they are now. With being a student in the college of business I had a lot thrown at me right away and had to learn how to prioritize my schedule. This specifically helped me with this job because with being in marketing, every day is different and there are many tasks to get done.
The work life balance is one of my favorite things about Willory. With having the privilege of working at home many days of the week I feel that I can utilize my time well and boost my productivity. When we get together for team meetings and luncheons it is a special occasion and we all look forward it. Working remotely is an awesome opportunity and I hope to see more companies take this approach in the next few decades. I really think it is where the future is headed, and it is cool being able to work for a company that dares to be different and paves the way for this movement.
In my free time I am almost always doing something with music. I am dedicated musician and have been playing since I was a child. I play shows with a couple of bands I am in, do audio production, run live sound, and am involved with local concerts and events. In addition to music I love being outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring new areas. I am a fan of small day trips and visiting as many new places as I can.
